Reference value:
The established reference value for the SARS CoV-2 (ORF1, N y E) genes reflect the amplification cycle in which the
genetic material of the virus is detected in the specimen.
The lower the result, higher is the viral concentration.

Methodology:
The RT-PCR assay for the detection of nucleic acids of the
new coronavirus (2019-nCOV) is performed by quantifying the
ORF1 of SARS CoV-2. This test adopts

COVID-19 genes in real time PCR assay.

Limitations:
The detection of a mutation is dependent on the number of
copies present in the specimen can be detected, and may be
affected by simple integrity, amount of isolated RNA, the
presence of interfering substances or inhibitors and
processing.
